Lately, the Protection Measures for the Logo of Guangdong Asian Games (hereinafter referred to as the "Measure") is issued and will be effective on January 1, 2010.
According to the Measure, the highest penalty for the infringements of the logo for the Asian Games will be 30,000 RMB. Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the organization for the 16th Asian Games have the exclusive rights for the Asian Games logo in accordance with the Measure, and the logo should not be infringed by any organization or individual.
Any commercial use (including the potential one) of the logo without the permission of the right owners will be regarded as infringements of the exclusive rights, and any organization and individual could report the infringements to the department of industry and commerce or other related administrative departments, pointed out the Measure. Disputes aroused by such infringements could be solved through consultation, legal action or sent to the department of industry and commerce directly.
