IPR Protection for Expos
On May 29, 2006, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, National Copyright Administration, State Intellectual Property Office, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade jointly staged the campaign entitled Operation Blue Sky across the country to upgrade China's IPR protection at trade shows. All relevant law enforcement departments, especially Service Centers for IP Protection(12312), send people with professional expertise to provide on-the-spot services at trade shows.

General Secretary Hu Jintao pointed out that in order to speed up development, it is essential for enterprises to develop imported technologies into more advanced ones and to improve their independent research ability. Premier Wen Jiabao noted that competition in the future would be in the field of intellectual property. At the beginning of 2004, Vice-Premier Wu Yi also pointed out that we should consider our position, identify our needs and push forward our IP strategy.
