On June 5th of 2009, the 8th Session of Chinese-Slovenian Scientific & Technological Cooperation Committee was held in Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia. Mr. Xu Hai, Chinese chairman of the Committee and Counselor of the Department of International Cooperation of MOST, and Mr. Peter Volasko, Slovene chairman of the Committee, and Head of the Office of International Cooperation and European Affairs, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, jointly hosted the meeting.

Both parties introduced respective S&T development, policies and related international cooperation, exchanged opinions on promoting bilateral S&T cooperation. The meeting reviewed the project implementation of the 7th session of the Committee, discussed and passed the 2009-2011 China-Slovenia Intergovernmental Cooperation Plan.
