On February 1, Vice Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Li Yuguang met Justin McCarthy , law adviser of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Limited Inc.. The two sides exchanged views on IPR issues.

Li Yuguang expressed that, SIPO concentrated on IPR protection work in pharmaceutical industry. In recent years, the investment and law environment were gradually optimized in China. The revised Patent Law and its detailed rules provided a sound IPR law guarantee for the pharmaceutical industry. Li Yuguang also introduced the contents related to mandatory license and confidential examination.

Justin McCarthy okeyed the revised Patent Law and its detailed rules. He denoted that, the revision of China's Patent Law provided guarantee for Pfizer Inc. in R&D and investment and hoped to make in-depth communications with the SIPO. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
